Lack Intuitive Skills? No Worries, You Can Acquire Them With Training (Psychic Development #1)

Intuition is the ability to receive informational messages, from unseen sources, regarding people, or events, from the past, the future, or present time without actually having physical access to that information. There are some folks who seem to have been born with a natural gift of above average intuitive talent. However, the "Natural Intuitive" does not possess any additional mind, or body apparatus that others do not possess, as well. The Natural Intuitive is merely consistently tuned into the wavelength of the messages that are being broadcast 24 hours a day, that the seemingly "Non-Intuitive," is just not aware of.

The ability to receive information intuitively is innate in humans, and animals for the purpose of self-protection, and survival of the species. When early humans existed in a more primitive state, living in open caves at the mercy of the elements, wild animals, and marauding human bandits, they had to rely on their intuition for survival. A day that one’s intuition was not used to detect danger was a day one did not survive. Additionally, early humans did not have an organized verbal language. Therefore, they had to communicate through mental telepathy, by sending mental pictures from one’s mind to another’s mind. There are some remote indigenous tribes that still practice this today when communicating with neighboring tribal members who have a different language from their own. When early humans developed tools to build homes with doors, and windows that lock, and also developed a common language with their neighbors, their intuitive faculties began to atrophy from non-use.

Even though natural intuitive ability has faded over the millennia of human development for the majority of people, there are still some who are born with a keen active intuition. Being able to obtain information that can be used in practical ways to improve one’s life, and the lives of others, is a valuable tool. The good news is that if one is not born "naturally intuitive," one can develop this faculty with study, and practice much like developing musical, or athletic prowess. The study and practice of intuition building exercises is commonly referred to as, Psychic Development. Psychic Development is quite effective for strengthening the innate intuitive faculties that all humans are born with, and is well worth the effort, as a strongly developed intuition is extremely helpful in navigating one's Earthly life.

The Importance of the Seven Major Chakras (Chakras #1)

For each of the various topics I intend this blog to encompass, I feel I must provide an elementary explanation in my first post for unfamiliar readers, before I delve deeper in subsequent posts. For those who are already familiar with the Chakric system, worry not, there will be more for you in later posts.

The seven major Chakras of the human body, are one of three important components of the human energy system and are closely interconnected with the other two energy system components, the Aura, and the Meridians. The term Chakra comes from the ancient, yogic Sanskrit language that translates as, spinning wheel, or disc. The Chakras of the human body are spinning vortices, or wheels of energy, that are affixed, in a columnar fashion, in front of, and in back of the spine. Each spinal Chakra is shaped like a double funnel with one funnel opening through the front of the body and the other funnel opening through the back of the body. The Chakras exist in an ascending order from the base of the spine up to the top of the head, and are widely known as, the Root, the Sacral, the Solar Plexus, the Heart, the Throat, the 3rd Eye, and the Crown. The Chakras are arranged is this ascending manner due to the fact that the human organism needs its energetic frequencies to raise from the basest Earth energies up to the highest Spiritual energies to ensure first, its survival and then, its evolution.

Each Chakra gives an energetically supportive influence on the organs, endocrine glands, and systems of the body within close proximity, and vibrates with the frequency of a particular color. Red is the color of the Root Chakra, the Sacral is orange, the Solar Plexus is yellow, the Heart is green, the Throat is blue, the 3rd Eye is indigo, and the Crown is violet, or white. Each Chakra is also attributed with an element: Earth with the Root, Water with the Sacral, Fire with the Solar Plexus, Air with the Heart, Sound with the Throat, Light with the 3rd Eye, and Cosmic Consciousness with the Crown. Additionally, each Chakra is attributed with a sense: smell with the Root, taste with the Sacral, sight and thinking with the Solar Plexus, touch with the Heart, hearing with the Throat, sight and intuition with the 3rd Eye, and knowing with the Crown.

Although, the body has many more than seven Chakras, some say every joint and acupuncture point are actually Chakras, and that additional Chakras exist above, and below the body, the Chakras most studied, diagnosed, and treated are the seven spinal Chakras. This is due to the fact that these Chakras play a very important nutritive role taking in, and circulating vital energies around the internal body, nourishing its organs, muscles, bones, and bodily systems.

Just as important, the spinal Chakras also serve as psycho-spiritual centers containing innate human protection mechanisms to support survival of self, and by extension the species. From the Root Chakra up to the Crown Chakra, these mechanisms urge the human to seek physical survival in the safety of a tribe, or family (Root); to mate and procreate for survival of the species (Sacral); to become an individual with the will to acquire, and protect one’s needs (Solar Plexus); to love, accept, and forgive one’s self, and others (Heart); to express one’s own truth, verbally, and artistically (Throat); to perceive the seen, and unseen truths, and deceits of others (3rd Eye); and finally, to know one’s place within the grand plan of the Cosmos (Crown).

How Does Crystal Healing Work to Heal? (Crystals #1)

Archaeological discoveries have shown that healing, by the application of crystals (stones containing predominantly one mineral, and a crystalline structure), existed and flourished in the earliest of human civilizations. This trend continued until the age of Enlightenment, when rational thinking was revered, and traditional healing methods were viewed as valueless superstitions. Therefore, even with thousands of years of success being used to ease the maladies of humans, crystal healing was tossed aside for lack of a plausible explanation of how it worked, and because its effects could not be measured with the rudimentary scientific instruments of the time. Fortunately, science has now developed equipment sophisticated enough to measure the subtlest of energies, and this ancient practice is currently enjoying a renaissance in popularity.  However, the question of how crystal healing actually works to heal, is still a question held by many.

How Do Crystals Heal?
Science has now proven the theory that all things, either living (animate), or non-living (inanimate) are bodies of vibrating subtle energies, and that each body exchanges energies with other bodies within its environment. Thus, it can be said that crystals promote healing in the human body through an energetic exchange between the two.

Each physical organ of the human body vibrates with a particular energetic frequency. When an organ is healthy it emits a strong, consistent vibration, but when diseased, it emits a weak, erratic vibration. Crystals also vibrate with their own individual energetic frequency. In contrast to the varying vibratory patterns of a human organ, a crystal always emits a consistent, harmonious vibration.

Therefore, if used on the body, a crystal with a similar vibration of a healthy organ, due to the method of its geological formation, molecular structure, mineral makeup, and color, will affect a diseased, erratically vibrating organ in a positive way. Even though, a crystal’s vibration is low in intensity compared to that of a human organ, it is so continuously harmonious; it will bring the diseased organ into resonance with itself. In other words, the diseased organ will entrain, and adjust its vibration to resonate with the vibration of the crystal that is in close proximity. The organ’s newly restored healthy vibration now stimulates a spontaneous healing response within itself. Another example of entrainment and resonance can be observed in a music store, when the strings of only one guitar are plucked causing a vibration, the strings of other guitars in close proximity, will eventually entrain and resonate, with a similar vibration. Therefore, a simple explanation of how crystals heal is that they use the natural processes of entrainment and resonance to promote healing in the human body.

The Tao of Everything - (Chinese Medicine #1)

What is the "Tao," really? We see many things today labeled as, the Tao (pronounced Dao) of this, or that, even a popular book entitled, The Tao of Pooh, by Benjamin Hoff (Penguin Group, 1983). Winnie-the-Pooh, is an exceedingly simple, yet lovable, bear starring in a series of children's stories, written by A. A. Milne in the 1920's. Since the "Tao" is a Chinese term that translates roughly as the "Way," The Tao of Pooh can be translated as, "the Way of Pooh." Author, Benjamin Hoff, conveys, for Spiritual seekers, that Pooh's "Way" is his strong inclination of going with the flow of Nature, while tending to his business, in a simple manner. Pooh is well known to conduct himself in a "Wei Wu Wei" fashion. "Wei Wu Wei," is a Chinese expression translated as, "Doing non-doing," and meaning, "Doing without great effort," which is just so, Pooh.

In Chinese Medicine, the "Tao" refers to a philosophy based on the "Way of Nature." Taoist philosophy has a prevailing theme that there exists a unified field into which all life is born, evolves, decays, and inevitably dies. Within this field, all living things are interconnected and dependent upon one another, the Earth, the Sun, and the Moon, as if entwined in a universal web.

Phenomena within the Tao follow universal laws. One such law is that everything in the Universe is vibrating energy, or Qi, that follows cycles or phases of transformation, in set patterns of continuous motion. In the Tao, the only thing that doesn't change, is that everything does change.

Another law of the Tao is that the Universe possesses two polarities, Yin and Yang; with the Earth being Yin, and Heaven being Yang. Humankind exists between these two polarities as a juncture where the two meet with their dual influence rendering humans both Heavenly, and Earthly beings. Yin and Yang are complimentary opposites, each possessing a seed of the other. Yin tendencies are cold, damp, dark, structural, and passive, while Yang tendencies are warm, dry, light, functional, and active.

Taoists believe that the human organism is a microcosm that mirrors the macrocosm of the Universe. They believe that the innate processes of humans are a reflection of the innate processes observed in Nature, such as the Earthly phenomena of seasons, natural elements, weather climates, and polarities. For example, Taoists equate the progressive stages of human development of birth, youth, maturity, old age and death to the Earth’s seasons of spring, summer, Indian summer, autumn and winter. Additionally, Taoists correlate the elements of Nature such as wind, fire, earth, metal and water to various human personality traits, as well as physical and emotional states. Taoist also correlate the weather climates of wind, heat, dampness, dryness, and cold to the causes of human pathologies. Furthermore, Taoists connect the negative (Yin) and positive (Yang) poles of the Earth, to the feminine and masculine qualities found in humans; with Yin being feminine and receptive, and Yang being masculine and assertive.

Since the Taoist view is that all illness is caused by a blockage somewhere in one’s Qi flow, a Chinese Medicine practitioner’s aim is to restore and maintain Qi balance in their clients’ mind, body, and spirit throughout the various stages of human life. The Qi flow is harmed when there is imbalance with the Tao’s seasons, natural elements, weather climates, or polarities. Conversely, when balance with the Tao is consistently maintained within the human organism, the Qi flows freely, and the body does not become ill. When a Qi imbalance has occurred, and illness has set in, the Chinese Medicine practitioner will use corrective measures to restore balance and proper Qi flow enabling the body to rid itself of its pathologies.

The Chi Addict Blog - First Post

Hello all, I must confess that I have an addiction to all things Qi related. Qi (pronounced Chi) is the Chinese term for energy. All things living and non-living are made up of vibrating energy and exist in a universal field of vibrating energy. Author, Lynne McTaggart coined the term, “the Field,” for this universal field of energy, in her book by the same name. In this Field there exists many types of Qi.

The type of Qi that sustains life in humans and all Earth’s creatures can be referred to as the life force, bio-energy, or body energy, and is also known as Prana in India, Ki in Japan, and Orgone is the West. This life force energy is even more important than oxygen, for example oxygen can continue to be given to a patient on life support beyond the point of death, yet when the life force is gone there is death, even in the presence of oxygen. Within the life force type of Qi, there are many subtypes of Qi, e.g. nutritive, protective, and healing Qi. Energy healing modalities, such as; Reiki, Acupressure/Acupuncture, Chakra Therapy, Crystal Therapy, Massage, Chiropractic, Herbology, Homeopathy, Flower Essences, and Essential Oils, are used to support the life force and compliment any Western medical treatment a client may be receiving.

Another type of Qi existing in the Field, is information energy. This information, in energetic form, can pertain to a person or event that has existed in the past, currently exists, or will exist in the future. This past/present/future information, is contained simultaneously and eternally within the Field for anyone skilled enough to access and interpret it. This information is referred to in Eastern philosophy as, the “Akashic Records”. Akashic is a Sanskrit word, meaning, “Information that is imprinted in the ethers”. Within the scope of a reading, professional Psychics are able to access, interpret and translate information relating to a client. However, a client can also train in, practice, and master various skills required to access and interpret information, within the Field, for themselves. This activity is known as, Psychic Development, and is extremely helpful for navigating the unknowns of life.

Spiritual energy is another type of Qi existing in the Field. This is the energetic form of humans and creatures who are no longer living (Souls), Nature spirits (Fairies, etc.) as well as beings who have never lived on Earth (Angels), and more importantly, the Cosmic Consciousness, or Source, or God, or whatever name you prefer for the “intelligence” behind all Creation.

My plan for this blog is to post primarily about topics relating to the life force, information, and Spiritual types of Qi. I invite you to join me in pondering all that is, Qi, within the confines of the blog format. Please comment whenever you like.
